Kakum National Park Ghana

Kakum Park is definitely one of those places that you just have to visit at least once.  I’ve been there 3 times now and after my first encounter with the bridges I countinously tell myself that I won’t be doing that again. Haha!

You may wonder why I recommend Kakum Park.  It is simply because its an experience you won’t often get.  If you’re not afraid of heights, dangerous things, insects and have a fear of falling just like me you will absolutely love it.

It has just the right amount fear factor if you are not me! Kakum Park is roughly a 3/4 hour drive from Accra buried inside Cape Coast.  Its a place for Nature lovers and anyone that can appreciate the outdoors.

At Kakum Park you can choose to do a forest tour or the tour and the canopy walk.  Just be careful when you do the tour that you don’t step on the family of ants like I did and have them all run up your legs (I kid you not!)

Entrance Fees ***Please do double check prices as they change all the time***

2GHC per person to enter the park

20GHC for Adult Ghanaians

50GHC for Non Ghanaians

5GHC for Ghanaian Children

20GHC for Non Ghanaian Children

Clothing It would be wise to wear comfortable clothing and closed shoes for the trip.  Insect repellant would also be a good idea especially if bugs always want to be friends with you.
